The Bay of Islands is in the Far North of New Zealand, about 3.5 hours drive from Auckland. Paihia is the main waterfront town in the Bay of Islands and is a starting point for all cruises and bus tours and to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. It is long, picturesque bay with sandy beaches, cafes, shops and a wide range of tourist amenities.
